duPont Awards – Student Volunteers Needed

Dear Students,

The Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards are looking for student volunteers to assist with the awards ceremony and panels being held on Spring Prep Day.

Volunteers will be responsible for greeting and ushering guests the evening of the ceremony (1/20), and will assist with technological and logistical needs at the panels during Spring Prep Day (1/21).

*You will be required to attend an orientation on Monday, Jan. 19, and work the entire duration of all events for which you’ve signed up.

Priority will be given to students who have demonstrated an interest in audio-visual reporting. All volunteers will be able to attend the ceremony.

To apply, submit an application by Monday, January 12, 10 a.m. No calls, please.

The duPont-Columbia Awards Events

Tues., Jan. 20: duPont-Columbia Award Ceremony, Low Library, 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm.  (The reception begins at 6:30 pm and the ceremony seating will take place at 7:30.  We will need you to arrive ahead of time to help with on-site logistics.)

Weds., Jan. 21:  Winners’ Circle Panels as part of Spring Prep Day, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm approx. Topics will include digital/interactive journalism, documentaries in emerging models, local investigative practices and special one on one interviews with a few of our winners.
