MEMO: Diploma Applications & Graduation Ceremony tickets

Dear Graduating Students, Just Graduated Students, Spencers, & 3rd semester doc students:

This year’s graduation information page is now live at: http://bit.ly/CUJ14Grad), you will find complete information about this year’s graduation events

The online registration/ticket request links for both the CU commencement ceremony and the Journalism School graduation ceremony will be live soon.  You will be notified when they go live.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have not submitted a diploma/certificate application (or graduated in October 2013 or February 2014), you will not be on the graduation ticket eligibility list.  *The 3rd semester doc students will be added manually and do not have to submit a diploma application at this time.

You may check the status of your diploma application in SSOL (https://ssol.columbia.edu/). Please note that it may take a week for your status to be updated in SSOL after you submit your application.

If you have not completed the form, please do so immediately.

Fun Stuff: Breakaway Hoops 2014 Spring Season

Breakaway Hoops is happy to announce registration is now open for its Men’s Spring basketball season at Columbia-Barnard College and Mother Cabrini HS gym. Students, we’re passing along an invitation to STORYLINK, an event hosted by Columbia’s School of the Arts, that provides opportunity to cross-mingle and find artistic collaborators. Details are below, and note that an RSVP by Feb. 14 on Facebook is required.

STORYLINK is an exclusive networking event to link graduate students in the Creative Writing, Theater, Journalism, Film and Visual Arts departments. This is an opportunity for writers (screenwriters, playwrights, fiction writers & journalists) and directors (theater & film) to meet and spark collaborations on story ideas that can become scripts, plays or films.There is tremendous talent spread through multiple departments at Columbia, and we hope that this event can bring students together and foster long-lasting collaborations both within and also outside the scope of the coursework of each discipline. By RSVP’ing in advance and filling out the RSVP/CreativeProfile Form, we will attempt to connect writers and directors who share similar interests in creative speed-dating sessions. A mixer with food and drinks will follow where dialogues can continue, and also provide a forum to meet writers and directors who you were not paired with in the creative speed-dating sessions.
